Sunday, 21 April 2024 Participants arrived in Dublin and checked into the Clayton Hotel Charlemont.

Monday, 22 April 2024 The meeting commenced at 10:00 at 8 Cabra Road, Phibsborough, Dublin. The session began with a welcome and an introduction to the agenda.

Following this, feedback was provided on the survey and testing of the IREAD game in Ireland. Participants discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the game based on testing data, identifying areas for improvement and necessary refinements.

The discussion continued with a proposal for a prototype of a Close Reading lesson. Attendees worked collaboratively on the development of structured lesson plans, ensuring alignment with pedagogical best practices. The team examined the effectiveness of different instructional approaches and finalized the framework for the Close Reading lesson model.

After lunch, the developed lessons were presented and discussed, with a focus on optimizing their effectiveness. Attendees shared insights on student engagement, comprehension strategies, and adaptability for different learning environments. Later in the afternoon, participants visited a local school to observe relevant educational practices and evaluate how Close Reading methodologies could be integrated into real-world classroom settings. The day concluded with dinner at The Hairy Lemon in Dublin.

Tuesday, 23 April 2024 The second day started with the finalization of the "Quickstart of Close Reading" document, which serves as a structured guide for educators implementing the approach.

Participants then visited the Guinness Storehouse for an educational and cultural experience. In the afternoon, testing and feedback sessions were conducted for the new levels in the IREAD game. This involved evaluating the engagement and comprehension outcomes of the newly designed game elements, with discussions centered on refining interactive features and ensuring alignment with literacy objectives.

This was followed by an online meeting with "Play it" to review the developed games and gather further insights from external developers and educational experts. The day ended with dinner at The Church Cafe Bar.

Wednesday, 24 April 2024 The final day focused on the development of the e-course, which is intended to provide educators with a comprehensive framework for implementing Close Reading methodologies in their classrooms. The course aims to enhance teacher proficiency in fostering critical reading skills among students while providing practical guidance on lesson integration and assessment strategies.

Following this, practical arrangements were made, including planning the final testing phase, online professionalization activities, and dissemination strategies. The final testing will involve all participants, ensuring the effectiveness of the developed lessons, game elements, and course materials before broader implementation. The administrative aspect of the project, such as timesheets, was also addressed. The meeting concluded with a small farewell lunch.

Conclusion The TPM5, IREAD Program successfully facilitated discussions, feedback, and practical planning for the Close Reading initiative. The sessions enabled collaborative development, testing, and refinement of educational tools, reinforcing the commitment to improving reading comprehension through structured methodologies. The project’s next steps include final testing of all developed resources, further refinements based on participant feedback, and preparation for large-scale implementation.
